2.1    The connections and correlations between the IBCP CORE elements (SL, PPS, LD, and RP)

The connections and correlations between the IBCP CORE elements (SL, PPS, LD, and RP) are crucial for the successful implementation of the program. Abbie Education helps to establish proper connections between these elements, Career Related Studies (CRS), and Diploma courses. This helps students understand the interdependency and interconnectedness among the elements, which is a key aspect of the International Baccalaureate Career Program. The module also focuses on project-based learning, allowing students to approach learning through the lens of a single project. This approach enhances their understanding and integration of the various CORE elements.

2.2   Rubrics for Assessments of CORE elements.

Regarding assessments, it's important to note that only the RP component is moderated by the IB. Schools have the freedom to assess the PPS, SL, and LD components according to their preferences. Designing rubrics for these elements becomes crucial, and your assistance in developing these rubrics aligns with the IB's approach. The results of the rubrics become an integral part of the Letters of Recommendation (LORs) sent for IBCP students.

The benefits and deliverables of your module include the following:

1.           Mind Maps: Connection mind maps are created to illustrate the interdependencies between the CORE elements, the DP courses, and the CRS. These mind maps form the foundation for developing rubrics for all the core elements.

2.           Report Documentation: Detailed documentation is provided to support both the aspects of interdependency and assessment, in the form of rubrics. This documentation helps schools understand and implement the connections between the elements effectively.

3.           Onsite PPS Coordinator/Teachers: Trained and experienced onsite PPS Coordinators or Teachers are provided to assist schools in establishing connections between the CORE elements, CRS, and DP courses. They also contribute to the process of rubric building.

4.           Formative Assessment Process: A formative assessment process, supported by rubrics, is implemented in line with the principles of Six Sigma. This process is facilitated by faculty members trained in Six Sigma and is provided to institutions to ensure effective assessment practices.

Overall, our module aims to enhance the understanding of interconnections among the CORE elements, support schools in developing rubrics, and provide comprehensive support for assessment practices, ultimately benefiting IBCP students and institutions.
